A Thousand Words

Good old McDonalds! And a yummy McFlurry :)

I think they actually put broken glass on the tops of walls and fences to keep people from climbing up... that or they know it looks super cool and colorful!

I love random Ecuadorian chickens <3 br="">

Since the last time I wrote, things have definitely gotten a little better. That Friday I got to spend time with one of my little brothers, Kenner. I saw him playing ball outside by himself, so I got Santiago, and we went outside and played with him. At first we just threw the ball around, but then we played categories. Whoever lost had to spell their name with their butt! It was a lot of fun, and I was glad to be able to spend time with Kenner.

Feeling Like A Chicken...

They played us music as we ate :)
The Santos/Collaguazo family.. one of the strongest that I know.

So there is a reason that I have not updated on what’s been going on. However, I can’t really write too much about it because it’s some personal stuff. I haven’t really been doing much of anything the last two weeks, so you haven’t missed too much. There were some good days, but the majority of the past two weeks hasn’t been so great.

Things I'm Not Used To

Well, here it is! My first blog of the 2013 summer I’m spending in Ecuador. I can tell you already that it has been challenging for me, and I think even more so than last year. Let me tell you why.

Sufficiency

Sufficiency
8/17/12

I took a good glance at every person in my living room that night, in hopes of trying to freeze that moment in my memory so that I could stay there. I heard their words, but I didn’t listen; I just watched them and the clock as every minute brought me closer to the end of my time in Ecuador.

A Piece of My Heart

A Piece of My Heart
7/30/12

So here it goes… my final thoughts about my trip to this beautiful country…

If you didn’t read the last two months worth of blogs, here is a summary of what I’ve done here [in bullet-point form]:

It's Never Enough

It’s Never Enough
7/29/12

I didn’t miss much in updating these past few days. The day after Santiago got sick, I got sick… really sick. I’m still not completely over the sickness, which kind of sucks because we bought all this food to eat, and I haven’t been able to eat barely anything.
